BOY IT'S HOT!
We've been in some kind of water, I think, EVERY DAY we've been here. The humidity is something we don't miss! We are having a ball though. Mom and dad's back yard will be the prettiest green from all the time playing in the sprinkler!
On the swing, laughing and having a good time (L to R) Jacob, Lacey & Luke
Running through the sprinkler.....Somehow Lana (the wee one) always timed it where she would run across the sidewalk when the sprinkler was not on her. It was too funny. She still managed to get wet somehow. That's my brother in the back, Scott.
Brent helps Lana with a small step to the sidewalk. Man he has to seem like a giant to her! (He's the tallest one in the family.) I know, Jackie, I know....I'm trying to make room to get her in my suitcase!!!And knitting with the girls!!! (L to R) Stacy (bun in the oven), Me, Tabitha, Holly and Sonya. Mom and Ruth and Olivia were there but I guess this was taken after Ruth left. :*( We didn't meet at our regular scheduled place, but we REALLLY liked this new coffee shop. I had a Wild Berry Green Tea Smoothie....Oh My GOODNESS it was goooooooooooood.
oh Wait! there's Olivia's head sticking up under the date there...see it..yep she was there. I bet Sonya will have pictures on her blog.
Until next time.............. :o)

You Are a Pinky |
You are fiercely independent, and possibly downright weird. A great communicator, you can get along with almost anyone. You are kind and sympathetic. You support all your friends - and love them for who they are. You get along well with: The Ring Finger Stay away from: The Thumb |
Downright Weird?!? Who would have thought!!??!!? Um...don't answer that...thanks.
FO FRIDAY!!
I made this dishcloth for Jacob's teacher.
Pattern: Knits By Rachel
Yarn: Sugar 'n Cream Cotton
Knit on size US 6 needles.

Never...I mean NEVER a dull moment!!
Saturday was WWKIP day (world wide knit in public day). I met with some of my Manchvegas knitters and we knit in the rain. I took Nathan with me and let him puddle jump...and MAN did he have a blast! Gina and Melissa and Ericka I think have pictures on their blogs (in my links over there ------> )
Sunday, the little stinker got out of the house with out us knowing!! Once I realized he wasn't in his room and I saw the back door open I FREAKED RIGHT THE HECK OUT!! Long story short, he's safe, he's home with me and LOCKS ON DOORS HAVE BEEN CHANGED so he can't unlock them!! I swear I thought I just might die if I didn't find that little guy!
Tonight...oh yes, there's more. Apparently our neighbors are in a little "tiff" and the boyfriend thinks it's ok to sit in the street and honk his horn and yell into the house at his girlfriend at 10:15pm. Niiiiiiiiiiice. And the boys room windows are right by the action. So I had to explain to the boys that they are safe, the neighbors just have bad timing for fighting. I hope they rest peacefully now that I explained to them what was going on. Our neighbor next door came out and confronted the guy at his car. So I doubt he'll be back..... Here's hoping.
Not much knitting wise to show. Maybe next time. :) Sorry there are no picture this post. I just haven't felt like blogging since the scare Sunday.

4. Have you ever visited someplace you consider exotic? Where was it? Exotic...hum... no
5. What was your favorite "travel" vacation? Why? I really enjoyed the trip that Brent, Jake and I took to Ocean City, Maryland about 4 years ago. We camped with the Wild ponies. It was cool!

7. Are you a museum visitor, beach comer or an amusement seeker? I guess either Beach Comer or Amusement seeker. Not much for Museums.

9. What's your least favorite type of yarn? bobble novelty yarn
10. What items do you like to knit/crochet? Socks and toys...quick knits.
11. What do you pack, knit/crochet wise when you go on vacation? I will be packing socks and a hedge hog for the trip to Kentucky this summer. :)
12. What other crafts do you do/would like to do other than Knit/Crochet? I am just learning to spin on a drop spindle. I love to sew with my sewing machine and I'm always on the look out for cute fabric!

14. What is your favorite color? Least Favorite? My favorite color is Green followed closely by Orange. Not fond of Yellow.

I did a bit of sewing today. This is the final month of Secret Pal 10 and I an working on getting my secret pals last package together. So far, below is what I have. A handmade (by me) Pirate Tote Bag (pocket inside too), a little zippered size purse (by me again) that holds some Pirate Stitch markers (yet again made by me!) Some Yarn, Magallanes 100% wool (hand dyed by Araucania Yarns-Chile) that's the green skien on the right, and the purple on the top is Atacama 100% Alpaca (hand dyed by Araucania Yarns-Chile). Cool eh? I'm looking to find some other little things to stick in there too for the final package for my secret pal. It has been a fun round and who ever is spoiling me has done a great job!! Now off to find some other little things I just remembered I bought for the final package!! Glad I remembered. :)
And since them's thar pirates above..here's me pirate name.
My pirate name is:
Mad Morgan Kidd
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. Even though you're not always the traditional swaggering gallant, your steadiness and planning make you a fine, reliable pirate. Arr!

I finished a couple hats. Ok ok ...one hat and one wanna be hat. The first finished hat is the Lillehammer hat from http://www.cidermoon.com/ Done with Knit Picks Merino Style in Storm ( 23464) and Fog (23450) (two weather elements that fit together perfectly, as do they in this hat!)
Here's a picture of the top. This is supposed to be for Brent. I hope it will fit down over his ears like it does on Jake. Now this poor hat below....I mean come on...doesn't Jakes eye's speak volumes of the atrocity of this hat?!? This is the Jughead hat from DomiKNITrix, and OBVIOUSLY I have done something wrong!!!!!! Seriously WRONG!
I do believe this hat will go in the toy box for them to play with! It is also knit in the Knit Picks Merino Style yarn Fog.
Below is my mother and her Bob sweater from www.magknits.com I think she did a great job on the sweater! Good Job Mom!
Over the weekend I went with some of the Manchvegas knitters to Maine. We had a rip roaring good time! Donna (blogless) drove and Gina, Melissa and I tagged along in her car. Chris and Ericka also went and took their car. A few sassy gals from Yarn Cellar in Maine met up with us and went too (Julie, Patty and Brenda [I think that was her name, if not there's always the edit option to fix that!]) We met up with Amy from Spunky Eclectic. Gina took a lot of pictures and has some on her blog so check them out. Here's one I snagged from her of me learning how to use a drop spindle. Thank Melissa for letting me try your drop spindle and getting things going backwards for ya...after all what are friends for!??! haha
