Yesterday was a fun day! Jacob graduated from Kindergarten!! We are so proud!! "WE", the parents, made it through the first year of school!! YAHOOOOOO!!!! OK OK we are VERY proud of Jacob too!!
Brent got a call from Deka asking him if he was still interested in the job...um...YES! So hopefully we'll know something soon. I guess they'll talk $$ next if they offer the job!
I got a call about a job yesterday...wouldn't you know it. Right after I agree to stay home for the summer with my children and my brother's children. Guess what won over.... THE KIDS!! I want to stay home and spend time with Jacob and Nathan, and I'll also get to spend time with my nieces and nephew! So fun!
Here are some photos from Jacob's Graduation Celebration at school.

Jacob pointing out Brent and I to his friends

How much longer until this is over??

When got home from the celebration, it was a beautiful day, so we grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, filled up the ship with water and let the boys play in the water all afternoon, into the evening. Finally, This is a card I made for my friend Linda who just had some surgery. It was fun to play with my stamps a bit and create a little something to cheer her. All the stamps are by Stampin' Up!

Two post in one day.... I'm entitled, it's Mother's day!! Brent and the boys went to the race track today and gave me some "ME" time!! I watched Chick flicks and made cookies!!! It was a lovely day.
The boys came home and Jacob handed me a bag with a box and said "Here mom, it's a camera, Happy Mother's Day." and walked off. LOL!! So Brent and I have been playing with it and here's a fun shot we just took.

Jacob and Nathan had fun at the race tracks with their dad, uncle, grandmama and grand dude. Jacob won a couple races on horses he picked and Nathan got to pet some horses too. I'm glad they enjoyed their day too!! Nate's in the red and blue toboggan and Jake's in the orange.

I Don't Know What To Do!!!! (brain overload!)

I had such a cool day today...and it's not even over!! I spent the morning with my friend Sonya, we went to a little Yarn shop in Jeffersonville, IN and then to her house to just chit-chat. It was nice to have an adult to talk to during the day!! Here's my score from the yarn store and a book I borrowed from Sonya.

The I finished off a bracelet when I got home that I was knitting for a friend. Now she has to pick which green one she wants. I wish the picture was clearer!! These are MaryElla Bracelets, I got the pattern from Knitty.com and the kits from Earthfaire.com. So Heather, if you can tell by these and get a good look...pick one :) If not I'll see what I can do to get the scanner back up and going and try and scan them.

Then!! Nope not finished yet... The mail comes! Thank you note from a friend (always cheers ya!), invitation to a Bachelorette Party (hello FUN!!) and a package from my Sassy friend Carol. MAN O MAN, does she spoil me. I requested some stamped cards from her for my workshops so show as examples...well she sent me quite a few (THANK YOU!) and then.....THEN!!! All of this coooooool fabric and a too cute for words pin cushion!

What an awesome day!!! Thank you Carol for all the goodies...The button totally rocks :)!! Who wouldn't want a button with some hot guys on it!! **wink wink**

Hello from New Hampshire. (ok so we're home now...) This is Brent and I driving around New Hampshire. Pretty cool huh. ok ok not exciting, I know. Brent went up there for an interview....I tagged along to check out the place. WOO Beautiful!
This is a cool little diner we found and had breakfast. We had to ask what BFT was...we weren't quite sure.... Do you know??
OH for the love of pete!! An EMPTY Bead store......say it isn't so Ethel!! Hey but check out the reflection of that hot couple...doesn't Brent look excited! haha!

We found a funny little cigar shop and couldn't resist taking Brent's picture with the little man outside.
It was a nice 2 days! We enjoyed ourselves. We just have to see if the company makes and offer and see what the offer is before we know what our future holds.
I do know that our future holds we need a new washing machine. Our motor quit!! We just got home from the laundry mat and boy that was expensive. Luckily we can bring the wet clothes home and dry them in our dryer.....so tonight it's drying clothes and watching movies for us!! Have a great weekend.

Oh yeah... BFT?? Big French Toast!

My handsome boys!! My mother took this photo of them a couple weeks ago and MAN do they look like their daddy!! So Handsome!

On other news, job wise, still nothing found for me but Brent has an interview with Deka Research in New Hampshire. We're not sure what to expect or even if we want to move, but it's something we want to check out. Now why can't we just find places like that near some of my crafting girlfriends?!? LOL

I went to Goodwill today. I bought 4 wool sweaters...they are in the washer now. One I guess I'll use for a swap that is going on at BeadArt. I don't know what I'll make yet, but I'll sure have fun sprucing one up someway!

Heh, I hope you like your new look. xo
Heather
Today was a fun kind of day. I went back to the art fair I went to yesterday and picked up the cutest little change purse! You can check them out at www.judestuecker.com they are under the "small works" section. I got one that has a teacup on it... so precious :)

I also got together with some friends and their kiddo's and we played with stamps, glue, yarn, fabric, star sequins, you name it!!! And I made these little dolls after being at the Magic, Mischief and Mayhem weekend in Richmond, inspired by Di (one of the teachers) I think I'll make them into pins. :)

Then my brother in law who is stationed in Afganistan showed up at the Movie store with Jacob and I went to rent some movies...He's on a 2 week leave and staying with us. Jacob is SO excited....He wants Uncle Chris to take him to the bus stop in the morning! LOL Does this mean I can sleep in?!?

And then TOMORROW I shall be an aunt AGAIN! My brother and his wife will be going into the hospital tomorrow to have Lana!! I'm so excited! Fun stuff!

What a fun night! The boys and I went to a Balloon Glow at the local fair grounds... Part of the Kentucky Derby Festivities!! Gotta love Derby time, so much to do and see!! There were 49 balloons there and it was just beautiful! I shot a little video (like 22 seconds) of the balloons, and there is no sound but it's still pretty cool to see. They waited until it got a little dark and it really is neat to see all those balloons glowing at different times.

You can check out the video here on my Myspace.com account.

I think the boys had an ok time... at first they were kinda scared so I got out of the grass since that was too close for them and we stood back some and they were cool then.

The boys with the balloons starting to inflate behind them.

More Balloons going up! And below....the penguin FINALLY did get up, but he looked so comfy laying down I had to snap a picture. I think he was looking at the clouds picking out shapes..what do you think?? haha

And of course no festival that I've ever been to is quiet....so we bought noise makers!!!

I go away for a weekend and come back with creativity brain overload!!! I am not a quilter, painter or sewing expert. I haven't touched a sewing machine since high school home economics class!!! (I still remember the disaster of an outfit I made...white pants, blue and white striped shirt..what WAS I thinking?!)
ANYWAY! I had a wonderful time with my friend Dot, from BeadArt and her friend Amy, and all her "Gilded Lilies" from Columbus, Ohio. We went to Magic, Mischief & Mayhem. There were three classes. One Journal class, one doll class (mostly techiques to put ON a doll) and then a painting class....so here are some pictures.

This was the first class I did...the journal class...I started out with these fabrics and that sewing machine.

The after a couple hours I ended up with these!

Then the next day was the painting class....
Starting out I had this...

And at the end of the day I had this......

The third day we focused on techniques to put on that pillar doll I showed you a couple months ago.... Here is one of the samples that I did... :)

TALK DERBY TO ME!
Nathan and I went to the store the other day and they had this horse ride at the front of the store. He loved sitting on it. The Kentucky Derby is just around the corner, and I for one love how the city comes alive! I hope to go to a chow wagon or something and hear some bands. Could be something fun for Nathan and I to do during the day.

Hi! I'm still here!! Just busy with nothing. Started another bracelet....ripped it allll out after I had about 4 inches done because I dropped a stitch and could not retrieve it because the stitches are so dang small!!
I should get my Stampin' Up kit tomorrow, so those of you who are local (which I don't think anyone reading this is) watch out for an open house!! I'm getting excited!
I had an interview today.... cross your fingers...the hours are perfect, let's hope the pay is too!!! With the hours they set, I will not need after school child care for Jacob and I'll be home in time to get him off the bus and help him with his homework! AWESOME!

Yesterday I had a nice afternoon at Baer Fabrics. I was able to purchase everthing I need for my "art gone wild" weekend coming up! I'm so excited. Here are some pictures of the goodies I bought... Any of my crafty friends that come and visit...this is a must visit.. I didn't even hit the button section and I want to get back in there!! Take a look.

Here are some of the threads I bought and a couple pieces of trim. And below is all the fabric I bought!

And then below you'll see a card that I stamped. I am really getting excited about the Stampin' Up business, so I pulled out some of my Stampin' Up Stamps and created this card.

I am also knitting about 3 more of those beaded/knitted bracelets. MUCH FUN!!! One is for my mom for mother's day...but don't tell her... I don't think she reads this... if she does..then.. mom, you didn't see that!

I did it! I finally did it!!! I made the bracelet! This was the ONLY reason I learned to knit because I wanted one of these for myself. And now I have one! I got the directions from Knitty.com, it's the Mary Ella project on their site!! BIG THANKS to Heather and Tamelyn because with out those two ladies I would have never started knitting! I've already started on my second bracelet. They are so fun!
(click on the bracelet a larger picture will pop up.)

It's a beautiful day outside today so the boys and I went on a little trip after we went to the post office. First we stopped by Churchill Downs. I am ready for some Derby fun!! Here's a shot of them outside Churchill Downs. Then after that we went into the Kentucky Derby Museum and I bought them both something. Then off to the new Baseball field to goof off for a bit.....

Happy Sunday everyone. Yesterday was a busy busy day!

I have signed up to be a
Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I am excited about the opportunites for this and the fun that I hope to have!! We did a make and take, which was a tile. Very fun! I won a game and came away with a NEW Stamp set, and then for signing up, the gal that is going to be my leader gave me a welcome pack with another stamp set it in, so I feel like I scored big time.

After the Stampin' Up meeting I called Brent and he had the boys at the skate park, so I headed down town to spend the day with them....it was a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Jacob is really getting better on his scooter too!!
Here is Jacob on his scooter and Brent and Nathan in the back ground siding on the half pipe.

After we finished at the skate park we headed down to the river and the park. We ran acoss some funky art so I snapped a shot of the boys.

There were several odd "animals" down there.. the boys just happen to be standing at this one at the same time so I snapped a shot with my cell phone (I should pack my digital camera in my purse more often)

After the wild animals we headed to the park and played, bought some hot dogs from a hot dog stand and then played some more at the park. Then we went down by the river. Both of the boys LOVED looking out at the water and throwing drift wood back into the water.

I think Brent and Jacob wished for some waves...but alas...this is the Ohio River ....pretty calm.

And then there was time to reflect on the fun...or..rest because they were all too pooped to party.

After the river, we headed home to rest for a bit and let Nathan take a nap...which was WAY short!! Then we decided to clean up and go out to see a movie. We went by the movie theater and bought our tickets early since we were going to a 9:30 pm show. We went down the street from the movie theater to go eat at Qdoba and heard a bluegrass band playing at the Tattoo Shop that we frequent, Twisted Images. We went in and talked to Rodney and visited for a bit and then Vinnie threw some fire...VERY COOL! Then we walked across the street to eat.

After dinner we went to see Ice Age, The MeltDown...it was TOO CUTE and both boys sat thru the whole thing and watched! They were so good and the place was darn near empty...I was surprised, but we went to a small theather..not one of the big popular ones! The boys both had booster seats which put them higer up and Nathan even layed across his a couple times...Head on Daddy, feet on me, but lounging, living the high life, watching a BIG movie!! TOO FUN!! We came home and then all four of us crashed for the night!!!

BUSY DAY!!! But Much Fun!

(all pictures were taken with my cell phone camera...that's why they're so grainy)
