Yesterday I had a nice afternoon at Baer Fabrics. I was able to purchase everthing I need for my "art gone wild" weekend coming up! I'm so excited. Here are some pictures of the goodies I bought... Any of my crafty friends that come and visit...this is a must visit.. I didn't even hit the button section and I want to get back in there!! Take a look.

Here are some of the threads I bought and a couple pieces of trim. And below is all the fabric I bought!

And then below you'll see a card that I stamped. I am really getting excited about the Stampin' Up business, so I pulled out some of my Stampin' Up Stamps and created this card.

I am also knitting about 3 more of those beaded/knitted bracelets. MUCH FUN!!! One is for my mom for mother's day...but don't tell her... I don't think she reads this... if she does..then.. mom, you didn't see that!

I did it! I finally did it!!! I made the bracelet! This was the ONLY reason I learned to knit because I wanted one of these for myself. And now I have one! I got the directions from Knitty.com, it's the Mary Ella project on their site!! BIG THANKS to Heather and Tamelyn because with out those two ladies I would have never started knitting! I've already started on my second bracelet. They are so fun!
(click on the bracelet a larger picture will pop up.)

It's a beautiful day outside today so the boys and I went on a little trip after we went to the post office. First we stopped by Churchill Downs. I am ready for some Derby fun!! Here's a shot of them outside Churchill Downs. Then after that we went into the Kentucky Derby Museum and I bought them both something. Then off to the new Baseball field to goof off for a bit.....

Happy Sunday everyone. Yesterday was a busy busy day!

I have signed up to be a
Stampin' Up Demonstrator. I am excited about the opportunites for this and the fun that I hope to have!! We did a make and take, which was a tile. Very fun! I won a game and came away with a NEW Stamp set, and then for signing up, the gal that is going to be my leader gave me a welcome pack with another stamp set it in, so I feel like I scored big time.

After the Stampin' Up meeting I called Brent and he had the boys at the skate park, so I headed down town to spend the day with them....it was a BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Jacob is really getting better on his scooter too!!
Here is Jacob on his scooter and Brent and Nathan in the back ground siding on the half pipe.

After we finished at the skate park we headed down to the river and the park. We ran acoss some funky art so I snapped a shot of the boys.

There were several odd "animals" down there.. the boys just happen to be standing at this one at the same time so I snapped a shot with my cell phone (I should pack my digital camera in my purse more often)

After the wild animals we headed to the park and played, bought some hot dogs from a hot dog stand and then played some more at the park. Then we went down by the river. Both of the boys LOVED looking out at the water and throwing drift wood back into the water.

I think Brent and Jacob wished for some waves...but alas...this is the Ohio River ....pretty calm.

And then there was time to reflect on the fun...or..rest because they were all too pooped to party.

After the river, we headed home to rest for a bit and let Nathan take a nap...which was WAY short!! Then we decided to clean up and go out to see a movie. We went by the movie theater and bought our tickets early since we were going to a 9:30 pm show. We went down the street from the movie theater to go eat at Qdoba and heard a bluegrass band playing at the Tattoo Shop that we frequent, Twisted Images. We went in and talked to Rodney and visited for a bit and then Vinnie threw some fire...VERY COOL! Then we walked across the street to eat.

After dinner we went to see Ice Age, The MeltDown...it was TOO CUTE and both boys sat thru the whole thing and watched! They were so good and the place was darn near empty...I was surprised, but we went to a small theather..not one of the big popular ones! The boys both had booster seats which put them higer up and Nathan even layed across his a couple times...Head on Daddy, feet on me, but lounging, living the high life, watching a BIG movie!! TOO FUN!! We came home and then all four of us crashed for the night!!!

BUSY DAY!!! But Much Fun!

(all pictures were taken with my cell phone camera...that's why they're so grainy)

Hey there....not a lot going on here. I had an interview this week with Aflac and Jefferson County Medical Society. Lord I'm tired of trying to sell myself to people. Oh well.
I've been knitting. Working on a bracelet. Here's the pattern. I have a feeling I'll be making a couple of these...My mother has been eyeballing the bracelet, and she loves bracelets about as much as I do!!
Brent had a gig in Chicago, IL last night. I'm not sure yet how it went but hopefully he'll call soon and give me the low down. Wish I could have went with him, but Jakey-boy had school today so I needed to stay here with him.
Jakes on spring break next week. We're thinking of going camping one or two nights if it's nice weather...so here's hoping!
Hope everyone's doing well.!! Leave comments letting me know you were here!! Just nice to know someone's out there :)

We had some fun Saturday night!! We went out and saw our friends Strumbeat. They were sporting some fancy hats!!

These guys are such fun!!! Oh, and Chris rocks!

Saturday, March 25, 2006

it's 4:46am...
Nathan woke up crying...for his milk....
by the time I found his juice cup he was back asleep.....
I'm knitting a Larry the Cucumber for Jacob.... odd request. He saw a veggietales movie and they had a coloring contest, and Larry the Cucumber was the prize, Jacob didn't win and I said we'll maybe we can make you one (not knowing where to buy a Larry the Cucumber) and Jacob says proudly "Yeah you can knit one!!" I'm like.....oh... ok I'll try!! So...stay tuned.
I'm going back to bed...it's too early!

I've been kinda stressed lately...One would think that with me not having a job I wouldn't have reason to be stressed....
So here are some of my thoughts...
24/7 with a 2 year old that doesn't quite talk where I can FULLY understand EVERYTHING.
Car Insurance worries me
Looking for a job.
Take a part time job? Take a full time job? No that's not enough pay but no one's offering more.
What to do, What to do......
Out of the blue tonight over dinner Jacob ask me, "Mom, why can't you find a job??" I just laughed and said, "Jacob, I have NO CLUE!!!" That just made me laugh....Maybe I tell him too much....
Brent's working A LOT!! He's worn out when he gets home. I miss him.

Sometimes I think, POO ON IT, I'll stay home and learn how to be a full time mother and deal with it. I've had a hard time adjusting to being a full time mother. Who knew 2 year olds were SO busy SO much of the day!! Well all I can say is Thank Goodness for Johnny Depp in "Willie Wonka"!! Nathan goes around singing "Willie Wonka, Willie Wonka," but if anyone else heard him they would have no clue what he's singing....but since I'm with him 24/7 this is one of the things I've caught on to.

I have another interview Monday...gotta find a sitter....I have no friends who do not work!!! I AM the friend that doesn't work.... *sigh*

On a good note....I made a final payment on a debt that had been over XX,000 dollars...it is now to ZERO... it feels gooooooooood!!!! It doesn't matter the starting debt number...just know it was LARGE but it's Large no more.

I'm still working on the bunny back pack and ordered some thread and beads to make this bracelet.
So this will be my next project after the back pack.

Until next time................................

Still Stitching... Cute bunny Cute bunny.

Saturday, March 18, 2006

Here's my bunny backpack start!! Isn't it cute!!!!!
Brent and I are watching the Movie, "As Good As It Gets" and Jack just said the line "Sell crazy somewhere else...we're all stocked up here!" OH HOW that is so in line with this house!! LMAO!! But we're more crazy fun. :)

I tried a Fabric Postcard the other day. Here's the outcome. I mailed it to myself because I wanted to see how my sewing would hold up.... Not bad!

I've been working on a knitted back pack...it's going to be so cute!! I'll have to get some pictures later and post them for you to see. But it's coming a long nicely.

Last night Brent and I went out for St. Patrick's Day. We went and heard a band and the lead singer was a gal my brother graduated with so it was cool to see her again. I think Brent want's to go back again...there were girls dancing on the bar!! LOL

Well one thing you might not know about me is I like to watch Mixed Martial Arts Fights...and my husband likes to fight IN the MMA Fights.... Now don't ask me why I let him do it, because honestly....I don't let him do anything, and he doesn't let me do anything in return... We aren't each other's boss... So while it scares the beejeeezes outta me when he fights...I still like it.
I think his record is 4 and 2. Yesterday he got the dvd from one of his recent fights and didn't open it until about 2am when we got home from the bar...and he starts WOOHOOOing and yelling for me (mind you kids are SLEEPING!!!). Seems he was on the front cover of the dvd. Very exciting for him, and I was happy for him too. Now the guy he fought...I don't feel so happy for... poor fella looks roughed up!! But I'm proud of Brent and think it's neat he's on the cover. He was the "Main event" for this round of fights so that was cool. Here's the picture.
Brent's the one on the left :)

GOOD NEWS GOOD NEWS!!
I got the results back from the FNA and everything is NORMAL!! I called my mom and she's happy, I called my dad and he laughed...nothing normal about me to him I guess haha!!
SO I'm glad about that.

I had an interview this morning...it went well but something about it being a salary position has me worried...it sounds like it would be about 50-55 hours a week... so.. I don't know... and occasional Saturdays.. Do I want to give up Saturdays?? It would only be from 7-12 but still.. I'm not sure I want to do that. I haven't worked a Saturday in over 12 years!! I think it would be a culture shock LOL!
I also just found out that the PT job I was really hoping for isn't going to follow through either. They've chosen two other people to further check into...and this was after 2 hours of interviews and test!! I'm a bit peeved!
SO... back to job searching!! Wish me luck!

Now back to our regularly schedule crap...I mean Crafts! ;)

Tuesday, March 14, 2006

Warning....not a normal post for me. Something is actually going on in my life!
What Is FNA?
Fine needle aspiration (FNA) is a technique that allows a biopsy of various bumps and lumps. It allows your otolaryngologist to retrieve enough tissue for microscopic analysis and thus make an accurate diagnosis of a number of problems, such as inflammation or even cancer.
Doesn't that just sound FUN?!?! I had a FNA yesterday on my thyroid. They did 4 sticks to my neck. So now I have four little needle marks on my neck and it's a bit bruised but just to the touch, no purple neck for me! I get the results back in about 7-9 days.
Brent met me there, which was great because I couldn't get ahold of any friends to sit with Nathan. Nathan watched with great interest and was very quiet. After it was over I told Nathan I should get a sucker for that because he always gets a sucker after he goes to the dr. I didn't get one....I just got a bandaid.
I started working on a free form bracelet last night. A good beady friend Lidija really inspires me to try!! Check out her site here. She has some beautiful pieces!!

Friday, March 10, 2006

I was working in my craft area yesterday, or studio I guess you could call it. It's really just the attic. Anyway here are some pictures of my area.

This is my stamp shelf and stamps. My Dad made the stamp shelf for me. It's awesome!! The painting to the right is my husbands hand print. Underneath that are 3 voodoo dolls that a friend brought back from New Orleans. He didn't want to keep them in his house so I took them all. I told him I just wanted one. He bought 3-4 for co-workers and the other co-workers didn't want them in their homes either so I gave all three a home. Things are wild up there with those dolls sometimes!! They make a mess! :)
This is my basket of friends. The bunny, white angel and green doll to the far right are from swaps that I participated in. The green doll with the copper color face is a WIP for me and a gift from Tamelyn. The round looking beaded ornament on the far left infront of the bunny is a kit from a good friend Cindy who was a great inspiration to me and my beading. There's a beaded face in there from a swap and then a small doll infront of the two green dolls that is also a WIP for me. She needs her back finished. There's also a purple gothic jagged bracelet in there but you can't see it. The fabric they are all setting on is a gift from a gal in Japan. The basket came from Hickory Farms when I worked there years ago for seasonal work.
These are a couple drawers of my beads. The top drawer holds some of my delicas.
This is my yarn drawer...not a whole lot in there but I have some stragglers around the house. The other drawers hold "stuff" that I just can't bear to throw away because I may need it someday for my artwork!
This is my wall of little drawers...beads and stamping supplies, paper and such. HEY there's my broom! I need to take that back down to the kitchen!
This is my beading desk. In the tall snowman jar is where I store my needles, but I just ordered a knitting bag for those..whee. There are several tins of bead projects there to the left. I love tins!!

Well...that's my room.... I dare not show you the floor because there are things that need a home and I just haven't found one yet.

While on Violet's message board, Jelene posted about The Envelope Collective . So I took a stab at the challenge and this is what i came up with. I took my swiffer insert, measured the paper to match the STICKY stuff, and stamped away! I'll mail it out tomorrow and hopefully they'll put it on their site. ;o)

On other homely issues... We're doing fine. Just watch where you sit!! This may look like your typical couch with a messy blanket on it.

But be careful!! My son is in there sleeping!!! LOOK before you sit!

I got tagged by my friend Stacy over on Myspace.com (and we knit together), So I'm posting my answers here.

Tag!

The first player of this game starts with the "6 weird/things/habits about yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a blog about their 6 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end you need to choose the 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their comments and tell them to read yours.

1. I don't like it when the hairs on my legs rubs against my jeans. It's nubbley... I've been known to get out of bed at 2am to shave!

2. I selfconscious about wearing my glasses when I meet someone for the first time.

3. I think adult feet are ugly but Babies are so sweet!!!

4. I look at guys hands and if they are well groomed, that's HOT. If it looks like they bite their nails or they are dirty and rough...it's not so hot.

5. I LOVE Lima Beans!!!

6. I still like to dance and sing infront of the mirror when I'm alone, or heck, infront of the kids...it's funny to see their facial expressions! "MOMMY WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!?!"

I tag: Heather, Denise, Kim, Becca, Stephanie, Carol, Tamelyn/Brittney

http://www.danielpowter.com/ Bad Day
NEW FAVORITE SONG!! I don't know what it is about this song but I love it! The video is cool too!! You can see it on his web site. The neatest thing is the billboard that both the characters draw on... so cool.
I've been reading "The Creative License" by Danny Gregory and seeing these two people draw on the video is cool how it all comes about. I am going to have to start the little projects in the book!! I think I'll make myself a doodle book one day when I get time. Haven't made a journal in awhile.

Friday, February 24, 2006

WOW Do I have some show and tell stuff today! I am so dang proud of myself!! I tackled the sewing machine!! I haven't used one since highschool!! I am going to Magic, Mischief and Mayhem in April (Check out the link, you'll be jealous!), and I had to have a doll for prepared before the weekend of the retreat. I was worried about this and now I'm kicking myself because I made it harder in my mind than it really was!!! SO without rambling on (which I'll continue to do after the pictures) Here are two pictures of the doll!! You'll see a coke can on the desk beside her to see how TALL she really is!! This was a big project for me! I started it yesterday and finished today (WHILE NATHAN WAS AWAKE!!!!)
ok ok here's the doll~

So what do you think!! Pretty dang good for the first time eh?!?!? OK OK yes the chocolate in the back helps!!

I also finished a knitted dish cloth that I gave to my friend Grace. It has music notes on it. I finished it Tuesday night!! OMG can you believe I got TWO projects finished in ONE WEEK!!! Now I need to pull out that scarf and finish it because I know Tuesday I need to give Stacy her needles back I borrowed LOL!

This is one of my bead art creations. It was for a project on a forum that I frequent: BeadArt.
I love this piece and it holds a special place in my heart because of a good friend. (((Cindy)))
Cindy passed away in 2005 and she encouraged me with my bead art tremendously! Well...no.. she PUSHED ME!! LOL!!! She was so brutal and honest, but never in a mean way!! She always told us gals at Bead art that our work was more than what we thought it was worth!! Cindy was able to hold this piece in her hands and actually see it in person before she passed away. I'm so glad I took part in this project!I had to make the picture so big because I'm so proud of it. yes Yes I'm patting myself on the back!! haha!!

Monday, February 20, 2006

SO I was over on Violet's blog reading and the gals were talking about what's in their purse. So I dumped mine out to see if anything interesting was in there. I found that I had 2 pens, spray listerine, spearmint tic-tac's, check book, list of supplies needed from Lowe's (remember that bathroom...One of my trip list) $1.25 (watch out world! She's rich), my cell phone, A goddess keychain FOB that was on my keyring but popped off (Made by my friend Ellen) and my wallet.
The best find was a card in my wallet from some flowers my husband sent me years ago. It said, "I love you Nut. I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world." WOW! No wonder I kept that!! So sweet!! He's such an awesome Husband!!
My purse, if you remember, is an Old Navy sweatshirt that my mom sewed into a purse for me.
I love carrying it around!!
Well, it seems Nathan has escaped out into the back yard...I better go get him!

Sunday, February 19, 2006

We started remodeling our bathroom some time ago. I wasn't even pregnant with Nathan.

Yesterday my Husband got BUSY!! Let me tell you he rocks!! He never left the house. I even had to go back to Lowe's and get more tiles, and yet he trucked right along! The kids were GREAT too and wanted to help....they're the experts ya know!

The rest of the house took a toll on the remodeling...it was rather humerous! The boys room looked like something out of a book of "Where's Waldo?"

My Living room took a hit too!!!

But after all the blood, sweat and tears, Lots of Mtn. Dew, Pizza and Chicken pot Pies, and the use of the bathroom for the day from our neighbors....HE IS FINISHED with the bathroom and I am soooo happy and LOVE IT!!!!

Thank you BRENT!!! I love you babe!

Friday, February 17, 2006

I went to an awesome concert the other night!! It was HEM from Brooklyn, NY. I had to go by myself because it was on a Wednesday night and all my friends have jobs they seem to think they need to get up for the next morning. It was the best dang $5.00 for a concert!!! I ended up buying their newest album "No Word From Tom" but I'm going to have to add their other ablums to my collection! It's just good folk progressive music! Makes me want to learn how to play the mandolin! LOL They do a cover of The Tennessee Waltz that is just so good!! If these guys are ever in your town..... GO SEE THEM!!! They had an opening act, Ben Weaver, from Minneapolis, MN. He was pretty good too. I met a gal that was in from St. Louis on work, but she worked her schedule around just so she could see Hem too. Very cool. Also met a couple who was kind enough to share their table with us, so I was right up in the front!! Great seats. I can't wait for them to come back to Louisville. Maybe I'll run into the people I met there!! Nice people!!

The job hunt is still on!!! Who knows when something will fall in my lap but it will be soon... OH LOOK Nathan's in my lap now!! haha!! Yes the best job is MOMMY!!! Pays with kisses and hugs! Awesome!

In other news...my Jacob is growing up fast!!! TOO FAST!!!

Happy belated Valentine's Day!

I am back!! WITH DSL!!!
How do I look??

I'm just so happy to be back online with DSL. I had forgotten how SLLLOOOOWW dial up could be.

Now maybe I need to work on my creative side again.
First a shower though...just got home from the gym. :)

Tuesday, February 14, 2006

ok..so I'm sorta back...
We are on *gasp* DIAL UP!! I have no idea how long it's going to take these "Guru's" to get our DSL fixed but I'm worn out from being on hold with our server for EVER, only to get hung up on! OH Let's just not go there.

Nathan and I are still home and I'm still looking for jobs. He's gotten better about going into the playroom at the gym, so we go there a couple times a week so he plays with other kiddo's and I get to watch whatever TV show I want and walk on the tread mill. The other day I even relaxed in the sauna after working out... got some free sweat out of that. I've also found that I can save a bit of money by using their hot water and shower at the gym.. Plus I don't have to worry about Nathan since he's in the playroom at the gym.

Let's see...in other news...Nathan pulled the tv and stand over on himself which resulted in a black eye and a trip to the immediate care center. No Broken nose, so we're happy about that.

Jacob's doing well in school. He went to the circus last week. He came home and I asked him about it. He said... "Well this clown got in this cannon and disappeared! I don't think it was daddy..." (this was said partially because Brent was in Rochester all last week). I asked him what he saw and he said, "Oh Elephants, tigers, clowns, and there were these girls running around in their bra's with no shirts on." ALRIGHTY THEN!!!! I can only hope he meant the acrobats!

No big crafty things going on at the moment. I am working on a scarf that doesn't seem to want to be finished anytime soon. Guess it will be spring and I'll get it finished.

Wednesday, February 08, 2006

Well our Modem took a dive!! Blasted thing. I'm typing this entry from my parents house while I check email and such until our modem arrives.
Stay Tuned! I'll be back!
